I have mixed heritage but I have afro-texture hair; they’re like tight curls and it hurts to comb and brush.
If I don’t chemically straighten my hair, I can’t comb it or brush it, they BREAK in my fucking hair.
It doesn’t mean I’m not proud of my heritage, it means that I don’t want to cut off all my hair and put a wig on to be accepted.
